What We Find
Most AWS Bills Pay for Things Nobody Uses
AWS charges for what you provision, not for what you use, and it never reminds you. The same patterns show up on almost every bill we review: servers sized for a launch that never came, data transfer through NAT gateways that could be free, storage nobody has looked at in years.
Some fixes take ten minutes. Others need a maintenance window. The audit tells you which is which, so you can take the easy money first.
Common findings:
Oversized and idle resources
Instances, databases and containers sized far above what they use.
Data transfer charges
NAT gateway and cross-AZ traffic that VPC endpoints or a layout change would remove.
Forgotten storage
Old snapshots, unattached volumes, unlifecycled S3 buckets and endless log retention.
No commitment discounts
Steady workloads paying on-demand rates instead of Savings Plans or reservations.
Pricing
Priced by Your AWS Spend
A bigger bill has more to audit and usually more complexity, so the price scales with spend.
| Average monthly AWS bill | Audit price | Accounts included |
|---|---|---|
| Under $3,000 | $750 quick check | 3 |
| $3,000–$10,000 | $1,500 | 3 |
| $10,000–$25,000 | $3,000 | 5 |
| $25,000–$50,000 | $5,000 | 5 |
| $50,000–$100,000 | $8,500 | 10 |
| $100,000+ | Custom, or 20% of first-year verified savings | Custom |

How much can an AWS cost audit save?
It depends on how the account has been run. Accounts that have never been reviewed usually have meaningful waste. That's why we offer a guarantee: if the first-year savings we identify are less than the fee, we refund the difference.
What access do you need?
A read-only IAM role with billing and usage visibility. We don't need write access, and you can remove the role the day the audit ends.
Do you make the changes too?
You can make them yourself from the report, which gives exact steps. Or we make them at our hourly rate ($175/hr on a plan, $195 otherwise). At the $50,000+ tiers the quick wins are included.
Why is the price based on our spend?
A larger bill means more services, more accounts and more complexity to review, and usually more savings to find. Pricing by spend keeps small audits affordable.
Can we apply the audit fee to ongoing help?
Yes. If you start Managed AWS or Fractional DevOps within 60 days, the audit fee is credited toward it.
